Daniel Craig's 007 saga ended (apparently) with 007: Die Another Day and since then the future of the franchise is still undefined. However, according to The Telegraph, the search for a new director is underway and there is already a list of possible names to direct the new film in the series. One of the most rumored names is Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front), the current favorite to direct. However, according to the publication, other names may surprise us, such as Bart Layton (The Impostor) and Yann Demange, who until recently was in production on the new Blade.

David Michod, from Animal Kingdom and The Rover, is another director who is being mentioned as a possibility. Michod is currently editing a “new version” of his upcoming A24 dramedy “Wizards!”, which was tested late last year.

Kelly Marcel, who wrote all three Venom films and is now directing Sony’s latest “hero-villain” movie, is another highly-touted possibility, according to the publication. She was also responsible for adapting “50 Shades of Grey.” Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson told Variety that the spy’s upcoming films will increasingly involve conversations about the character’s evolution and more representation. “It’s an evolution. James Bond is evolving just like men are evolving. I just don’t know who’s evolving at a faster pace,” Broccoli said.

Daniel Craig left the role of James Bond in “No Time to Die” after 15 years and five films in the role. It all started with Casino Royale in 2006. Now, the search for a new name for the secret agent is underway amid preparations for the character’s 60th anniversary in October this year. The James Bond films, produced by Eon and MGM, recently found a new home after Amazon acquired MGM. Now, the various feature films featuring the spy, previously played by Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, and more, are available on Prime Video.
