In a weekend of cinema in the US that brought Deadpool & Wolverine back to first place, BoxOfficePro confirmed the heavy flop of The Crow, but also a new absolutely incredible result for the Disney/Pixar animated film.

But let's proceed in order: the podium of the US Box Office

After losing the top spot at the US box office last weekend thanks to the excellent debut of Alien: Romulus (details here), Deadpool & Wolverine has regained first place at the US Box Office with a terrific new collection of 18.3 million dollars. The film has collected a whopping 577.2 million in the US, and a whopping 1.211 billion globally. In recent days, it should be remembered that the film dedicated to the Merc with a Mouth has surpassed the overall takings of Avengers: Age of Ultron at the ITALIAN Box Office.

The second position on the podium went to Alien: Romulus, which dropped by 61%, with a new taking of 16.2 million dollars, and a total taking of 72.63 million, one step away from the overall total of Alien: Covenant (74.3 million). Globally, the new terrifying adventure of the Xenomorph at the cinema has reached 225.4 million. It Ends With Us, the romantic drama with Blake Lively, instead closed the weekend in third position with a new takings of 11.85 million dollars, and a total of 120.82 million: a figure unthinkable until two days before its debut in theaters.

And now for the weekend's news

Zoe Kravitz's debut film Blink Twice grossed an estimated $7.32 million over the weekend and a worldwide total of $14 million. The thriller's meager takings were accompanied by not very high reviews (Rotten Tomatoes recorded 79% critics/69% audience), and it was therefore difficult to obtain a better box office result than this. The Crow, or rather the remake of Alex Proyas' famous masterpiece, debuted with a "terrifying" takings of $4.6 million, so much so that it became one of the flops of summer 2024 (budget over $50 million). Despite the presence of an actor who attracts audiences like Bill Skarsgard (IT), the film obtained an unflattering 20% on Rotten Tomatoes for critics, with only 66% obtained by the audience.

Inside Out 2, is another record

Having already become the highest-grossing animated film ever at the Worldwide and International Box Office, Inside Out 2 has crossed the milestone of one billion dollars internationally over the weekend, the first ever for an animated film, the twelfth to do so in history. To date, the Worldwide total has risen to 1.649 billion dollars.
