Marvel's White Vision/Ultron

James Spader will return to play Ultron in the upcoming Marvel series on Disney+, a sequel to WandaVision. This news, reported by The Hollywood Reporter, marks nearly a decade since he debuted as the infamous antagonist in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The new Marvel series will center on Vision, played again by Paul Bettany, and is expected to debut in 2026. The story will follow White Vision, the incarnation of the character we saw in WandaVision, as he tries to find a new purpose in his life after the events of the original series.

In WandaVision, White Vision was created from Vision's destroyed body and had a philosophical confrontation with Hex Vision, a version of the character generated by Wanda's powers. During this confrontation, Hex Vision managed to restore White Vision's original data, allowing him to recover memories of his previous life, including his relationship with Wanda and the loss of the Mind Stone. Terry Matalas, known for his work on Star Trek: Picard, will lead the Marvel project. Meanwhile, Disney+ continues to expand its Marvel universe with several new series.

After the success of WandaVision in 2021, the platform has planned further spin-offs. Among them, is the series Agatha All Along with Kathryn Hahn, which debuted with a double premiere on September 18. Additional upcoming productions include Daredevil: Born Again, scheduled for March 2025, and Ironheart, a spin-off of Black Panther 2, scheduled for 2025. James Spader, known to all fans of the Marvel Universe, starred in The Blacklist, where he played Raymond “Red” Reddington, and, before that, he starred in Boston Legal, The Office, and The Practice.
