A short but creepy teaser video has been released for "Alien: Earth," the first live-action drama series in the "Alien" series. The main footage is the same as the previous one, but new directions and information have been added. The setting seems to be 2120. Since the first film in the series depicted the year 2122, this will depict the events two years before. This contradicts previous information that it was supposed to be a prequel to "Prometheus" (2012), which mainly depicted the year 2093.
The narration and subtitles say "In 2120, Mother Earth is expecting." "Expecting" means "pregnant, close to delivery." It seems that the Earth will be parasitized by aliens and an embryo will be implanted inside it. In the eye-catching image on YouTube, the "egg" depicted in the teaser poster for the first film has been replaced with the Earth. You might think that this is a beautiful Earth floating in space, but the image is actually reflected in the head of a Xenomorph.
The Xenomorph, with its eerie luster, roars at the Earth while dripping saliva. A distorted image is subliminally inserted to match the title of "Alien: Earth," but if you look closely, you can see the eyes of an animal-like creature and a white man screaming after being attacked by a Xenomorph. The director is Noah Hawley, who also directed "Fargo" and "Legion." The silhouette of the Xenomorph is "untouched" out of respect for the original version, but the director has incorporated his own interpretation to make it even more terrifying.
Ridley Scott, the creator of the "Alien" series, will be involved as executive producer. The series is already expected to have at least two seasons, and John Landgraf, CEO of FX, the US station in charge of production and broadcasting, is confident that "they're taking a very bullish stance." "Alien: Earth" is scheduled for release in the summer of 2025. The teaser video announced that it will be distributed on Hulu, but please note that Hulu is owned by a completely different company. it will be distributed on Disney Plus "Star" in 2025.
