It's already been three years since the last No Time To Die, the film that marked Daniel Craig's farewell as James Bond and started a new cycle of stories for the most famous secret agent in the world. But who will play him? A question that remains open, but thanks to the words of producer Barbara Broccoli we know something more. Speaking to the Associated Press during the 15th edition of the Governors Awards, the historic producer of the saga has in fact hinted at some of the characteristics of the next agent 007.
As is known, the selection for the part is very strict and follows some very specific criteria - which is why it is almost impossible that James Bond will ever be played by a woman. For the rest, however, the characteristics seem clear: Barbara Broccoli has declared that it should be a man in his 30s, also adding that it will not necessarily be a Caucasian actor, with “white” skin. Among the criteria cited, in fact, is the fact that James Bond must be English, but the meaning is open to the entire Commonwealth of Nations, so he could also be played by a black actor.
«Every time we choose a new actor – said Broccoli – The films change. There is enthusiasm for a new Bond, for a new direction. Whoever has taken the role has offered something new and different». The guessing game continues, therefore, from which by force of circumstances now seems to exclude actors such as Idris Elba and even Cillian Murphy (48 years old), who until a few months ago was almost taken for granted.
Who could still be included in the choice is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a 34-year-old British actor in pole position for the part who however is already very well known for having participated in the Marvel franchise. It has been said in the past that the actor called to give life to James Bond should not be so well known, but perhaps this criterion could change. What do you think? Who would you like to see as the next James Bond? Let us know, as always, in the comments.
