Elizabeth Olsen is ready to reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Universe, but this time not as fans expected. The official confirmation has arrived that the actress will return to lend her voice to the character in Marvel Zombies, the new animated series that will explore a dystopian reality introduced in the episode What If...?, entitled "What If...ZOMBIES?!". This series will follow the events of an alternate timeline where the Marvel world has been invaded by a zombie epidemic, and the survivors fight for their lives against an infected version of the most famous heroes and villains.

The plot of Marvel Zombies kicks off with a series of catastrophic events that occurred in the episode of What If…?, in which a mission by Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne into the Quantum Realm unwittingly leads to the spread of a zombie virus. The story ends with a zombified version of Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet, a twist that has left fans on the edge of their seats. In this context, Scarlet Witch makes her appearance, with Olsen returning to voice the character in this animated version, solidifying her connection to the multiverse and its many developments.
Olsen, who played Wanda Maximoff in WandaVision and the subsequent Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was a major protagonist of Marvel Studios' Multiverse Saga. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, her return to WandaVision marked a pivotal moment for the MCU, bringing the heroine to the small screen in a new way. However, her apparent death in Doctor Strange has raised many questions about the character's future in live-action. While Marvel Zombies offers a new opportunity to see Scarlet Witch in action, fans have yet to hear official confirmation that she will return in a live-action project.
