Mufasa: The Lion King, the final trailer of the Disney film

Disney has released the final trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King, the prequel to the live-action remake of the famous 1994 classic. Directed by Barry Jenkins, director of the highly acclaimed Moonlight and If Beale Street Could Talk, the film will tell the story of the rise of the greatest king of the Pride Lands. The release in Italian theaters has been set for December 20th.

synopsis reads: Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, Mufasa: The Lion King uses Rafiki to pass the legend of Mufasa to the young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature show. Told in flashback, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone, until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, heir to a royal line. The chance meeting kicks off a journey for an extraordinary group of misfits as they search for their destiny, testing their bonds as they work together to escape a deadly enemy.

Combining live-action filmmaking techniques with photorealistic computer-generated images, Mufasa: The Lion King is directed by Barry Jenkins and produced by Adele Romanski & Mark Ceryak, with Peter Tobyansen serving as executive producer. The film is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024.
