The first look of the Netflix political thriller drama "Zero Day" has been released, in which Robert De Niro, who continues to fascinate audiences with several masterpieces that represent the era, such as "Taxi Driver" (1974) and "Killers of the Flower Moon" (2023), plays a former US president. De Niro also serves as executive producer. The six-episode series asks questions that everyone is curious about, such as "How do you find the truth in a world in crisis?" and "What if that world is being torn apart by forces you cannot control?" In an age where conspiracy theories and schemes are rampant, it explores how those uncontrollable forces are created by people's actions and even imaginations.
De Niro plays former US president George Maren, who is tasked with tracking down the perpetrators of a devastating cyber attack. Other scenes include President Mitchell, who appears to be lost in thought at his desk in the Oval Office, Maren's daughter, progressive female congresswoman Alexandra, walking down the stairs, two men by the river with the night view in the background, Maren looking at a computer monitor with a female staff member in a dark room, and members of the response team in a large, modern office.

Supporting De Niro as George Maren is Angela Bassett from the Black Panther series as President Mitchell, Lizzy Caplan from Now You See Me (2016) as Maren's daughter Alexandra, and Dan Stevens from Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire (2024) as Evan Green. Other names on the list include Jesse Plemons, who co-starred with De Niro in "Killers of the Flower Moon," Matthew Modine from "Stranger Things," Gaby Hoffman from "Sleepless in Seattle" (1993), and Clark Gregg from the "Iron Man" series.
Creators include Noah Oppenheim, who worked on "The Maze Runner" (2014), Michael Schmidt, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist and author, and Eric Newman, who worked on "Bright" (2017). This will be De Niro's first lead role in a drama series. We can't wait for his tense performance. "Zero Day" will be exclusively available on Netflix on February 20, 2025.
